Re: Mankad!
No change to using outside substances or objects on the ball still being an offence. Or to the ICC penalty for that which I understand is a level of demerit points that would normally mean a ONE TEST ban.
No country other than Australia prepared to add to that penalty for their cheats ... Chandimal, DuPlessis x 2, Tendulkar, Englands 2005 Ashes attack etc
Disappointing.

I guess making the ban on using saliva on the ball permanent (supposedly a COVID response originally) is one step towards stopping some of the devious cheats who have blighted the game.

Re: Mankad!
Ironically from Oct 1st the MANKAD is being moved in the Laws from the 'Unfair play' section to be just another dismissal under the 'Run Out' section.

Another change is that the incoming batsman will be on strike even if the players have crossed when a catch was being taken.

Ban on use of saliva on the ball now made permanent

Re: Mankad!
She wasn't half way down the wicket you prick. She was in camera shot and probably 2 yards out of her crease. Not 5 and a half yards. Taken in context, with the series already won and 10000 plus paying customers witnessing what looked like being an exciting finish it was a particularly cunty thing to do without warning... not surprising, just cunty

She made one giant step from her crease

If she didn’t give a warning, that’s really poor form.

Re: Mankad!
If she’d already been warned, fair enough. The woman only left her crease when the bowler looked to be releasing the ball.

Poor form but then Indians are complete wronguns at cricket.

Re: Mankad!
Still think if someone is stealing feet or yards they should be warned.
Havent seen this one but if you dont intend to release the ball you could probably run out most batsMEN who are in their crease when you WOULD have delivered the ball.

Surprised that since the original MANKAD in 1947/48 (Vinoo Mankad v Bill Brown of Australia) that there have only been 3 more in Tests and none since the late 70's.
Ian Redpath (Aust) by Charlie Griffith (Windies) 1968/9
Derek Randall (Eng) by Ewen Chatfield (NZ) 1977/8
Sikander Bakht (Pak) by Alan Hurst (Aust) 1978/9

With the Hurst one in the next innings Andrew Hilditch as the non striker picked up the ball to give to the bowler after it rolled down the pitch so Pakistan appealed and had him given out 'handling the ball'.

Re: Mankad!
Naaaa. Bang out of order not to at least give a warning.

If it becomes the norm then bowlers will need to practice their Mankad fake deliveries to entice batters out of their crease. Genuine wicket chance. Slow over rates due to 50 Mankad attempts.

It will now just be zero tolerance and batters will have to watch the bowlers release every ball. Only way it can go when some countries won't give warnings.

Did she get a warning?

Halfway down the wicket is taking the piss though

England ladies lose to a mankad and the commentators are fuming.

She was half way down the wicket, it’s cheating!
